Day 4 – 19th June 2005
We had time for breakfast today and what a breakfast – OJ, Yoghurt, bread, cheese, ham, omelet and tea (Chai!). We could have fed an army!
Got to the classes and today we began with Solo. We did the Single Jig and a hard Treble Jig Step. Again a very enjoyable class. After the class I thanked everyone for coming and they all cheered and clapped and wanted photos and signings!! I’m a celebrity! We had brought some souvenirs from Ireland and we had a raffle for these at the end they were so grateful!
Ceili next and this time we did the four hand Reel, Eight Hand Jig, Cross Reel and a Three Hand Reel. Again they surprised me and were so enthusiastic. I thanked the ceili crowd for coming and for having me and again there was clapping and cheering. It went on forever, I was moved to tears. Lots of photos and letters later I had time for a quick change and off to the Ballet.
Dima’s mum had managed to get us tickets for the last performance of the Bolshoi in the Bolshoi theatre for 6 years. WOW! The theatre is like nothing I have seen before. Red Velvet curtains and gold trim everywhere. We had seats next to the presidents box – can’t get better than that. After the ballet we went to an Irish Bar – imagine going all the way to Moscow to drink in an Irish Bar – MAD!
